As of 2 March 2015, i am officially the Project Manager for one of the top two bunker oil trading companies in the world, Dan Bunkering. Some of you might have already read the news on my Facebook. http://www.bunkerindex.com/news/article.php?article_id=14651
Time flies often too fast too furious. While i was working to start on my new role at Dan Bunkering on strategy planning and sales optimization, i was feeling extremely heavy hearted as i was counting down to the end of my lecturing days with my last batch of classes (FTDipMComm21 & 22; FTDipMComm20 and PTFipMM10) at Kaplan.
Many have been questioning my decision to make the switch, from Lecturing to heading back into the corporate world doing something that was completely different from my usual playing field. It is putting myself back to ground zero in a completely new environment and industry. To be completely honest with you, i would be lying if i think i can pick up the new role easily. Having to part with my freedom to be in control of my own time – when to teach, when not to, when to have lunch, and dinner, head to JB on weekdays, and watch midnight movies on weekdays, my causal dress code instead of being obligated to wear formal, these small sacrifices to me feels really big and uneasy. But i am taking the new role on as a new challenge. This is also a way for me to stay in touch with the working world and keeping myself updated and relevant, as i feel that i am running out of new stories and experiences to share and teach in my lectures. In short, i feel my experiences and stores are dated, like i have nothing new to teach and share anymore.
Hopefully, when i am on top of things again at work, i would be able to do a few guest lecturing and training, get to complete my book, and also to teach in the evenings again in the near future. In the mean time, i would love to share with you some photos of me at Kaplan 2, 3, 4 and 9 of February 2015. I have some took some videos too for the first time in my teaching career of me teaching. For some reasons, i am not able to extract those files. Will share with you guys again on a separate post.
Cheers to infinity and beyond. Hope to be able to keep in touch with you all. If you have any bunker inquiries, or any friends whom you i should connect with to help me grow in the bunker industry, please feel free to drop me a note.
